Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki blamed Germany for the current situation in the energy market in Ukraine and in European countries. He shared his opinion in an interview with Politico.
Morawiecki also said that Germany should have been more actively assisting the Ukrainian army, as well as allocating more funding to Ukraine than it had allocated.
“Germany should send more weapons, more ammunition and give more money to Ukraine as it is the richest and biggest country by far,” he said.
The Polish prime minister noted that the German authorities "were not as generous as they should have been."
“I'm not attacking them, I'm just stating the obvious,” Morawiecki expressed his dissatisfaction.
The prime minister said that he discussed all his claims directly with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.
Earlier, the ex-Minister of Foreign Affairs and Defense of Poland, MEP Radoslav Sikorski complained about the lack of German leadership in supporting Ukraine. He noted that among the allies the opinion prevails that in the FRG "they do only what is necessary at the last moment, and only under pressure from outside."
