It became known what the new Russian electric train will look like - an analog of the Lastochka
The Vostok electric train is being created based on Lastochka. It will develop the same maximum speed - 160 km / h, but at the same time,
it will become more comfortable and modern. The new trains will start carrying passengers by the end of this year.
This is how the head car of the new Russian electric train with the working name Vostok will look like. The creation of the updated rolling stock based on Lastochka is carried out by the Sinara - Transport Vehicles holding. The image was shown by an RBC source familiar with the project. A representative of the developer confirmed that this is the final design of the electric train.
It is planned that the new electric trains will start carrying passengers on the Russian Railways network by the end of this year.
The head of the company, Oleg Belozerov, said on March 29 that "deliveries of a completely Russian DC train are planned in the second half of this year." He did not specify which train was in question.

The Sinara-Transport Machines website says that Vostok electric trains are designed for transportation at a distance of 100-300 km and can accelerate to 160 km / h (like Lastochka), the maximum capacity of such electric trains will be 1.4 thousand. Human. They will be produced by the Ural Locomotives plant.
“The trains of the Vostok series are similar to a construction set: you can assemble an electric train from motorized and non-motorized cars (from three to 12 units), supplement it with a module with batteries and go in almost any direction, even if it does not have a contact network everywhere,” it said. in the message.
Traction batteries will provide autonomous travel over a distance of up to 125 km.
The developer promises to make Vostok more comfortable than Lastochka: the new trains will have USB connectors for charging (Swallows usually have sockets), new warning systems, scooter mounts with the ability to recharge, and bistro cars.

The Lastochkas were built on the platform of the German Siemens Desiro electric train. Since 2014, they have been produced by Ural Locomotives. About 1.2–1.3 thousand Lastochka cars of 28 different modifications now run on the Russian Railways network. These trains are used, for example, on the Moscow Central Ring (MCC), as well as in suburban and intercity transportation.
