Tennis player Medvedev told what he thought after losing the final in Indian Wells

Russian tennis player Daniil Medvedev told what he thought about after losing the final match of the Masters series tournament in Indian Wells, the official website of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) reports.

In the second round match of the Masters in  Miami, the Russian athlete met with the representative of Spain Roberto Carballes-Baena. The meeting, which lasted only 1 hour 3 minutes, ended in two sets with a score of 6:1, 6:2. Before that, he lost in the final in Indian Wells to Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz.

“After my match with Alcaraz, I thought that I need to use this shortened shot more often. I have always liked drop shots, but this is not a weapon in my game that I am going to use 50 times in a match, ”Medvedev said after the match with Carballes-Baena.

In the third round, Medvedev will play with the Slovak tennis player Alex Molchan, who had previously beaten the Japanese Yoshihito Nishioka.

Before that, the Russian won 19 matches in a row and three ATP tournaments before losing in the final of the Masters in Indian Wells with a score of 3:6, 2:6. After that tournament, Medvedev returned to the top 5 of the ATP world ranking, and was seeded at number four in Miami, since the second racket of the world Serb Novak Djokovic, who did not receive a visa due to his lack of vaccination against coronavirus, is absent in the United States.

Earlier it was reported that Andrey Olkhovsky, a famous Russian tennis player in the past, especially famous for his performances in doubles and as part of the national team in the Davis Cup, said that the emotionality of the leading domestic players Daniil Medvedev, Andrei Rublev, and Karen Khachanov can positively influence their results.
