Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmitry Kuleba intends to visit several African countries in the summer. Maxim Subkh, Special Representative of Ukraine for the Middle East and Africa stated this to the Ukrinform publication.
“We are now working to ensure that the second African tour of the minister takes place in the summer and covers new countries on the African continent,” Subh said.
He added that Kyiv is considering holding a Ukraine-Africa conference. At the moment, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, together with the office of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, determine the main topics of the conference.
Earlier, Kuleba decided to complete the first African tour in the history of Ukrainian diplomacy. The head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry made the corresponding decision against the backdrop of explosions in Kyiv and other cities of the country. As the head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry pointed out, the department has been actively cooperating with the country's allies since the morning of October 10. Kuleba also stressed that he is conducting a dialogue with Kyiv's partners to "coordinate a decisive response."
Before this, the chairman of the Commission of the African Union (AU), Musa Faki Mahamat, said that Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba called him and repeated the request of the President of Ukraine to address the leaders of the countries of the African Union.
