The head of the subsidized drug provision department of the Ulyanovsk State Pharmacy, Nailya Khabarova, said that it is advisable to always have antihistamines with you, even for those who believe that they do not have allergies.
“Antihistamine drugs are the main drugs that reduce the severity of allergies. They block the production of histamine, a substance that is released in large quantities upon contact with an allergen, and help eliminate such symptoms of hay fever as profuse nasal discharge, sneezing, itchy eyes, and watery eyes, ” mosaica.ru quotes the expert.
As Khabarova noted, those who suffer from seasonal allergies should have appropriate drops in their first-aid kit, which are recommended to be instilled before going outside. Moisturizing drops will also come in handy to wash the eyes of pollen.
In case of allergic rhinitis, drops, and sprays are provided.
“If you have contact dermatitis, keep moisturizing creams and steroid ointments with hydrocortisone, mometasone, betamethasone, or triamcinolone in your medicine cabinet,” the expert advised.
She added that for any course of allergies, a doctor's consultation is needed.
